Behind the Work:
While at Concord Music Group, I had the opportunity to support Jacob Collier during the monumental creation of his Djesse album series—four genre-spanning albums being developed simultaneously. Working closely with Jacob’s systems engineer Ben Bloomberg and a rotating cast of inventive collaborators, my job was to keep the creative momentum uninterrupted. I engineered and maintained lockout sessions, helped retrofit his custom Hackintosh rig (running a supercharged Logic Pro environment), and pushed the limits of his tech setup by integrating Pro Tools HD cards for seamless scaling.
I also curated a selection of unconventional instruments, studio toys, and tactile tools—anything to unlock new sonic possibilities in the moment. Jacob’s process was wildly fluid and experimental, and being a part of that alchemy was a masterclass in intuition, adaptability, and deep listening. Djesse Vol. 3 went on to earn a GRAMMY nomination for Album of the Year, and Jacobean Essentials captured even more layers of his boundless musical vision.
